At the current time, the cast and creative team have not been made public.

Fun Home, the Tony-winning musical currently occupying Circle in the Square, will close on September 10.

In Transit, an entirely a capella musical, is according to its press a modern show that weaves together many different characters and musical styles. With the city’s subway as a unifying conceit, In Transit follows 11 different New Yorkers who are aiming to ride their way to happiness and success – with a few unplanned stops along the way.

Primary Stages mounted the first Off-Broadway production of In Transit at 59E59 in the fall of 2010. Previews started on September 21st of that year before an official opening night on October 5. Reviews were very positive and it won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble. The show was read in 2012 and a concert edition was presented at Feinstein’s /54 Below the following March.

In Transit On Broadway

In Transit is a story about 11 different New Yorkers moving through life. Their tales entwine in an a cappella musical that visits both the heights and depths of life in the city. Book, music, and lyrics are the work of a four-person team working in collaboration. Rhythmic a cappella bass themes run throughout the work, mirroring the endless pulse of the city’s subways.

With its a capella score bearing the creative imprint of the minds that created Pitch Perfect and Frozen, In Transit is a cutting-edge musical for the modern day. It breathes fresh life into the endless stories being told in the city that never stands still. With the subway as its inspiration, In Transit blends together 11 different lives into a story that tells everyone about the journey to happiness and the little detours that end up being made along the way.
